I am an independent British musician who is not funny.

I write and record music before then releasing it online for the entertainment of whoever cares, all for free.

I also have a YouTube channel which I use from time to time: http://youtube.com/SephBentos

I hope you have a great day.

‘I JUST WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO YOU’

I wasn’t sure whether to upload this or not at first as I was in two minds about the lead guitar part. Then I figured that getting hung up on minor details when you’re satisfied with literally everything else is silly, especially after I factored in that probably about 3 people are ever going to listen to it.

It’s a take on Willie Dixon’s ‘I Just Want to Make Love to You’, inspired by the Muddy Waters version. Enjoy and have a great day. Thanks for listening!

I made a cover of Mel C’s dance anthem ‘I Turn To You’ for a bit of fun. I love taking tracks and seeing how they sound in different genres! Mel C is such an underrated solo artist, her album Northern Star is especially fantastic.

Originally by Mel C, she owns it and stuff. Please don’t sue me, Mel. Thanks.

Scarecrow

So I wrote this years ago and have only just got around to making a proper recording of it because I am an idiot. It’s a bit of a downer I’m afraid, but I think you’ll enjoy it regardless. I am particularly proud of these lyrics as I feel they do a decent job of telling the story that I put together in my head for the song.

As always, please take a minute to share, reblog, like, favourite blah blah. It helps me a lot and any and all support I get keeps me from going insane. THANK YOU.

Lyrics:

We all love the stories with beautiful protagonists
Falling in love, due to pre-determined catalysts
But no one wants to hear about a disfigured man
Who never gets the girl, but always lends a hand

He always lends a hand, But everything is planned

The story never changes, just the names and the faces
Heroes can’t grown old because their hearts are made of gold
The leading men and women never dare to show
A single flaw or weakness, it’s just the way it goes

Everyone knows how it ends, but we all feel the need to watch
Again and again and again

Lowly Scarecrow, covered in feathers
Days turn to weeks and months last forever
He stands there alone his heart and mind together
He’s falling in love with no one again

He’d give up all his dreams just make you crack a smile
He’d lay down his life or be dragged a million miles
Receives no reward, no payment, no medals
We all enjoy the ride whilst he works all the pedals

A flower missing his petals, mistaken for nettles

He’s fallen in love
He’s taken time to hold your hand
He’s taken time tonight

Through Monochrome Eyes

So this is a song I put together to show my support for Gay Marriage. While I’m not gay myself (Sorry lads!), I do believe that homosexual couples should have the right to marry their life parter should they so choose.

I could go on a rant about why it should be legalised world wide, but you’re not here to listen to a rant about gay rights. You probably don’t even need telling anyway! You’re here to listen to some objectively good music!

Don’t forget to share, reblog, like, blah blah blah. Thanks for the support, it’s very much appreciated. THANK YOU.

Lyrics:

This is a story about somebody you may know
Polite demeanour, well dressed and never, ever late
He’s just a guy trying to make it through another hard day
Donates to charity, falls in love and then says ‘Will you marry me?’

But they just all keep going on about it
Screaming sin and getting far too angry
They’re not the only ones who fall in love
But they just refuse to understand

Is it really offensive or are they just offended?
They’ve never met him but they do their best to trip him up.

Your state of preference is so God damn irrelevant
unless you’re personally involved.

Live In Fiction

Another song that was thrown together through boredom one day. Quite proud of my high D in head voice towards the end though! This mix is a little piercing during the choruses so I’ll probably replace the mp3 later in the week with a better mix.

If you enjoyed this, please like it, favourite it and all that. Reblogging helps get the word out and that. Thanks for the support!

Lyrics:

Welcome to the now
Where nothing is ever good enough
So hide your frown
Behind a mask of what’s ideal

Force a smile (oh)
Unhook the talons of denial
And treat yourself
Just like everybody else

Analysis Paralysis sets in
Notions juggled back and forth

Live in fiction where you’re the hero
Your addiction makes you ugly
Take a picture for the kids, Make it better than it is
Relentless itch breaks the skin, Lets it all come flooding in

Come Together (Beatles Cover)

This is my take on the kick ass tune Come Together.

Originally by The Beatles, no copyright infringement intended etc. Please don’t sue me, it wouldn’t be worth your time.

-MONDAY UPDATE-

Sorry for the late posts lately, I’m in a Queen musical and my free time is quite precious at the moment.

This is a demo of a song I wrote a while ago called Wall. When you suffer from writer’s block and hit a mental wall, just knock it the hell down with something creative.

Don’t forget to favourite and reblog. Any help is always appreciated.

Curtains

This song features my beloved Djembe. I wrote this tune after having writers block for an entire day then just playing whatever came to mind on my acoustic guitar. Figures!

Losing Machine

This is another old recording from years ago. I could always redo it and make it a lot shiner and polished, but I like it the way it is. It reminds me how far I’ve come as a producer (I always feel like an arse hole when I call myself a ‘producer’ but I guess I am one. I do have qualifications in music production after all, it just seems a bit twatty to call myself a ‘producer’).

I think the raw recording adds to the feeling of the song and gives it some extra charm. I can’t complain, Losing Machine won me various song writing competitions and the music video won me a few, too. The video can be found on YouTube.

Don’t forget to reblog and favourite if you like it, it helps a lot and all support is greatly appreciated. If you REALLY like it, follow my music Tumblr. Thanks!

‘The Villain’

This is one of the first recordings I put together entirely by myself about 4 years ago. I wrote, recorded and mixed it together in about 3 and a half hours, so it’s a bit thrown together.

Since it’s creation, The Villain has just kind of sat in my hard drive. It’s free, enjoy!

If you like it, please reblog and follow etc. I’m rubbish at self promotion and such and any help would be greatly appreciated.
